All Kosher chickens purchased from PnP for Pesach must bear the Pesach label.  The Beth Din of Johannesburg has been informed that some non Pesachdik stock has found it way into the Pesach section at PnP Norwood .  These packages are NOT Kosher for Pesach if they do not bear the Pesach label.

Pesach: Flax and Hemp

Flax and hemp (whole grains only) may be used on Pesach.  They should be purchased from manufacturers that do not process Chometz grains also.  These grains should also be carefully checked before Pesach for any residue.

From The Star K For Pesach: Ancient Harvest Quinoa

The Star K certifies Ancient Harvest Inca Red Grains, Tricolor Grains Harmony Blend, White Grains Traditional and White Quinoa 50 lb. Bulk Bag year long as well as for Pesach.  This product is acceptable for Pesach use with no Kosher for Pesach certification.

From The O/U For Pesach: Baby Carrots

The following brands of O/U certified Peeled Baby Carrots are acceptable for use on Pesach without special Kosher For Pesach certification:  Albertson’s, Bugs Bunny, Bunny Luv, Grimway Farms and Safeway.

From The O/U & cRc For Pesach: Composite Stone (i.e. quartz counters)

According to the O/U and cRc, composite stone (quartz, granite, marble etc.) counter tops, which is made mostly of stone, but is held together with resin, can be Kashered.  As a rule, materials such as metal, wood, stone, natural rubber, plastic (if needed), and fabric can be Kashered.

From The Star K for Pesach: Paper Cups & Plates

According to the Star K, Paper Cups and Plates are acceptable for Pesach (without a KFP certification) ONLY for cold foods/drinks.  For use with hot foods/drinks, a Kosher for Pesach certification is required.

From The Star K For Pesach: Paper Cupcake Holders

According to the Star K, Paper Cupcake Holders ALWAYS need a Hechsher year-round and for Pesach, a Kosher for Pesach certification is needed.  No Hashgacha is needed is needed for foil cupcake holders.

For Pesach: Spices

Processed spices and seasonings all require a special Pesach certification (KFP).  Whole spices are fine for use on Pesach without a Kosher for Pesach certification.
