From KIB: Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Franchise Alert

A consumer found ham sandwiches being sold at the USC Coffee Bean.  The following information was received from KOLA (Rabbi Benzaquen):

The USC location is a franchise location and up until now all franchises were mandated to maintain kosher food.  Now corporate cbtl  has just changed protocol for franchise stores and are allowing them to have an option of either staying kosher and supplying from the kosher source or doing their own food which will no longer be kosher. The USC store no longer bears a Kosher LA certificate. We will be listing all franchise locations on our website shortly and one must check for a Kosher LA teuda in these listed franchise stores to check their kosher status. All other stores in the Los Angeles area, remain kosher certified in its entirety, however we always urge the customer to always check for a Kosher LA teuda in ALL stores.

Thank you,

Esther
