Many packages of mislabeled Ferrara Pan candies have been found in local stores. Even if the outside of the package states “Product of the USA” and shows the kashrus symbol, you still need to check the individual small boxes to make sure they have the UMK hechsher. Many of them say “Product of Mexico” and do not have a hechsher!! Only boxes which have the hechsher may be eaten. The UMK sign appears below and can be seen on the outside of the package of non-kosher candies.
