From The COR of Greater Detroit: The OV Symbol

The OV symbol (a V inside of an O) is the Kashrus symbol for the Vaad Hair of St. Louis.  Unfortunately, a number of other companies and organizations use the same of similar symbol to indicate vegan or vegetarian status.  Some examples are Campbell’s “Well Yes” soups (NOT Kosher) and Fresh Finds French Fried Onions sold at Big Lots.  Usually, there is some indication on the label that the symbol is referring to vegan or vegetarian.  When in doubt, contact the Vaad Hair of St. Louis at (314) 569-2770 or email at chana@ovkosher.org.
